Series: Stages of Smoke-Free Multi-Housing Program Development

Between October 2011 and March 2012, Live Smoke Free hosted a 9-part webinar series discussing topics related to building and maintaining a smoke-free housing program. Webinars featured expert speakers and allowed listeners to learn what's happening in the smoke-free housing movement around the country. This series is designed for public health professionals and smoke-free housing advocates.

Smoke-Free Multi-Housing 2.0: Leveraging our Successes and Strategizing Next Steps

National Conference on Tobacco or Health
Kansas City, MO
August 14 - 16, 2012

The Live Smoke Free program, at the Association for Nonsmokers—Minnesota, and the Tobacco Control Legal Consortium are hosting an ancillary session at the National Conference on Tobacco or Health in Kansas City. The session will be held from 3 – 6 pm on August 14, 2012, the day before the conference officially begins, in Room 2502A of the Kansas City Convention and Entertainment Center.

This session will provide an opportunity for smoke-free housing advocates to review current issues affecting the promotion and adoption of smoke-free policies for multi-unit housing. A brief overview of current local, state, and national policy successes will be followed by facilitated discussions on three topics related to smoke-free housing: medical marijuana use and reasonable accommodation requests; transitional and special population housing; and electronic cigarettes. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.
